![]() ECOPATH Industries has become a leader in designing and developing specialized equipment engineered to produce Modified Asphalt Binders (including Asphalt Rubber), Crumb Rubber Modified Asphalt and Polymer Modified Asphalt (PMA). ECOPATH’s sister company, STRATCO, Inc., was founded in 1928 as an engineering and process design firm specializing in blending equipment for the petrochemical industry. STRATCO has sold equipment and licensed technology to the petrochemical industry in over 50 countries and on six continents. ECOPATH has benefited greatly from STRATCO’s 81 years of engineering innovation.Having had four years of success designing, building, and renting our equipment to Paving Contractors (providing us first-hand experience in the field), we at ECOPATH are eager to establish a relationship with Paving Contractors and Hot Mix Asphalt Producers in your state. The Award Winning I-95 project in New Jersey, performed in 2007, demonstrated our capabilities involving technology transfer and providing services for the production of asphalt rubber binder utilizing ECOPATH’s equipment. Trap Rock Industries, NJDOT and Rutgers University received the DEP annual recycling award. DEP recognized these three entities for their uniquely successful collaborative effort. We are pleased to offer you our new line of equipment that is capable of producing conventional SBS modified binder, asphalt rubber, and terminal blend asphalt rubber. The principal benefit of having such equipment at your site is to allow you to reduce your modified asphalt binder costs. Internal projections done by ECOPATH suggest that it is possible to save significant amounts of money by purchasing blending equipment and using on-site blended modified asphalt. The reason for this lies in the fact that all modified asphalts are significantly marked up by the producer. Using ECOPATH‘s Modified Binder Blending Plants (MBBP) allows you to produce your own materials to meet the required specifications, thus reducing your binder costs and supplying you with a competitive edge for a winning bid. An ECOPATH MBBP allows you to continue producing PG graded binders even during times when SBS availability tightens. Furthermore, this capability allows you to customize the modified binder production parameters for the specific project at hand. Using these tools makes it possible for you to plan ahead during the bidding period and be confident in the knowledge that you will be able to continue bidding projects that specify the use of PMAs such as PG 76-22 and PG 70-28. On-site binder blending equipment also allows the Contractor to produce specialty blends on demand. For example, the PG 82-22 typically used in bridge deck mixes or porous pavements can both be produced economically on site. ECOPATH promotes the use of PG graded binders using crumb rubber modified binder. The price of crumb rubber is significantly less than SBS, however, many of the properties of conventional SBS modified binder can be achieved through the use of crumb rubber. ECOPATH has an in-house R&D team specialized in this technology to aid in the development of specifications for PG graded binders using crumb rubber. We are confident that the price of field blended SBS PG 76-22 and CRM PG 76-22 are significantly lower than the price of terminal blended PG 76-22. Our MBBP can be built and delivered in five months. One of the advantages of ordering new equipment in APRIL is to take advantage of the IRS code: Bonus Depreciation: 50% of the cost of a qualified asset can be deducted if purchased and placed in service before October 1, 2009. A qualified asset is one that must be new (not used) and must have a life of 20 years or less. An extra incentive is there is no AMT adjustment for property eligible for bonus depreciation. Please confirm with your own tax advisors. ECOPATH provides our Customers with an in-house engineering team, experienced managers and operators, and reliable equipment. Our customer support system optimizes the production process when working with modified binder projects. The result: Reduced operational costs related to production and increased profitability on the overall project. We invite you to Arizona or we would be pleased to meet in your area. We will follow up with you in a week to coordinate a meeting. Sincerely, S. Diane Graham CEO |
